Frequently asked questions
Do aggregator prices match official provider prices?
Mostly, yes. Of the 78 flagship models checked against the providers' own pricing pages on 2026-10-21, 72 match the OpenRouter catalog exactly. The 6 differences are concentrated in Moonshot's Kimi models, which the catalog routes below Moonshot's own list price, and one MiniMax model that is officially paid but currently has a free catalog route.
Why show both prices?
The official list price is what you pay the provider directly; the catalog price is what routed access costs. When they differ, the cheaper route can save real money — and when a "discount" is actually a temporary promotion (for example GPT-5.6 Sol or Gemini 4 Argon), the notes on this page say when it ends.
